I'm trying to decide between these two cars. It will be the only car, so it will be driven every day. I like both equally and have test driven both. The car will be for family use- no kids yet, but within a year or two- and light hauling- saddles, home improvement, etc... I've investigated both at Consumer reports, Kelly Blue book, and a few other sites and they all same the same thing, almost identical. It looks like it might just come down to personal preference and/or who gives the best deal. Both vehicles are equipped equally and with the same options. I'm going with manual shift and not interested in AWD. I live in western NY if that makes a difference. Anyone have either of these vehicles or doing the same search? Looking for advice. Right now I'm leaning towards the Toyota because of reliability, but the Mazda was definitely more fun to drive. Help!
