2009 Jeep Compass - sometimes headlights stay on for about 90 seconds after

I lock the doors? I just bought a 2009 Jeep Compass - I do not have the EVIC option. Twice, the headlights stayed on for about 90 seconds after I lock the doors. I have had the car for a week and a half.
I have read the owner's manual - only mentions changing the option if you have EVIC.

Also - it has only happened twice. I would understand if it happened all the time, but only twice?
