i want a list of pros and cons of the 2 bikes. i know there's like a $4,500 difference, with the Harley obviously being more expensive. i really like these two bikes and just want to know if anyone has had any experiences with either. tell me what you think. thanks a lot guys.
also what about the 2008 Honda VTX 1300 C?

do you just want to ride,or do you want to feel some pride ?go with the harley

Have you considered all Harley Models? To me, being a die hard Harley guy, it is plain freaking ugly and I would only ride it if it was given to me.

That being said. I hear this line all the time: "My bike looks just like a Harley and Sounds just like a Harley"

I have never heard "I wish my Harley sounded like a (Insert foreign bike here) and I wish my Harley looked like a (Insert foreign bike here).

The Harley is easy to work on: No radiator, water pump, etc... the technology has been around since 1903. Maintence is the same, change your fluids on a regular basis and take care of the machine and it will last a long time. Abuse it and you will have some hefty repair bills. But that applies to all of the bikes.

go with the HARLEY--check out a Night Train, or Softtail Custom too. you just might like it.

I'd go with the liquid cooled Honda. Liquid cooled machines tend to last longer and have fewer problems. Honda is the benchmark for reliability.

The Raider is a great looking bike. If I was going to ride air-cooled that's the way I'd go.

If you want to push with pride, go H-D.
The concern for "Re-sale value" ought to be a red flag telling you that Harley is not a bike you're going to want to keep.
Coolness factor and bogus patriotism doesn't belong in a serious discussion of motorcycles. Not among serious riders, at least.

harley $19499 Yamaha $14490 at msrp. odds are the yamaha dealer will dicker, and Yamaha will give incentives.I'm a Harley guy, but I've owned several Yamahas, and worked in a yamaha shop back in the 80's.The Rocker is nice, but that nasty, butt ugly seat setup. The Raider is a nicer looking bike, and will give you years of service. The Harley will retain it's value longer.Test ride them both. one will feel more natural to you.compare the quality of the fit and finish of the parts, you'll understand why the Harley costs more.Of all the Harleys, the Rocker would be my last choice,I believe it is way over priced, for what you get, even for a Harley.

The water cooled vtx is clearly the best of the three, the yamaha has the most horsepower. But if you care about performance why buy a Cruiser? Cruisers are a fashion accessory and a status symbol, not sporting equipment, so why would you buy anything other than the highest status and most styling Cruiser. All cruisers want to look like a 1940 harley and they all pretty much have the performance of a 1940 Harley. So get the real deal if all that posing floats your boat. Pay twice the money for half the bike but twice the status (among people corny enough to think underpowered bad handling reproductions of an antique motorcycle are status).

I ride Harley's, I own the Dyna Street Bob 2008, and I never even considered any other brand. As for BS patriotism, and brand loyalty well buy what you like. All the bikes made outside the USA have chips in them to try to make them sound like Harley's and they have designed them to try to look like Harley's..example Yamaha V-Star tries so hard to be a Heritage soft tail, but will never even come close. I would get the Rocker if I had that kind of money. The street Bob fit my style and pocketbook and I have never regretted my purchase.
