I had a 2006 Ford Focus until it was totaled in a head on collision. It did an excellent job protecting me from the accident and suffered no fractures.
Now I have to purchase a new car and I can get a 2009 Honda Civic Automatic DX-VP for $18,500 out the door. Then today I learned that Ford is going to offer employee pricing on their cars. I know I would be able to save about $3k-$4k on a car if I went with the Ford. I never had any mechanical problems with the ford, but the idea of getting the car at $3k cheaper than the civic might be a good option.
I know the civic will last me 7+years, but I worry that this short term investment might pay off more in the long run. I do get a better rate than the civic at 3.9% finance for 60 months than the Ford's 5.9% finance for 60 months. But perhaps since the Ford will be cheap, I can do 36 months for 0.0% financing
