I have 9,500 miles on this vehicle and have installed a 2 chamber flowmaster series 40 muffler, a wix air filter and mobil 1 synthetic oil and have not seen an increase in gas mileage or horsepower, even tried different gasolines, currently have Shell in my tank..
I tried a vortec cyclone for three months, no increase in gas milage or power either.
There is not a company that makes a cold air intake for this vehicle.
I put around 1500 miles a month on this vehicle..
Does anyone have any ideas how I could get maybe an extra couple of miles a gallon more on this vehicle and maybe some extra ponies..

Sorry, but you have a heavy car and a small engine, it's going to have to work pretty hard to get and keep the car moving. What kind of mileage are you getting exactly?

The cyclone/Tornado is a joke and a scam, it's been widely documented. Changing the muffler will just likely make the car louder (an no offense, but I imagine a Flowmaster 40 on 4 banger sounds god-awful). I think you're just throwing your money away with ineffective modifications.

From the factory your car is tuned for maximum mileage, car companies have CAFE standards that they have to meet and it behooves them to get the best mileage as they can out of their cars.

173HP isn't much for a 3800 pound vehicle. Even the 235 HP 3.5L is no great shakes either.

What kind of mileage were you expecting to get and what kind of mileage are you currently getting?
