2008 TOYOTA TACOMA 2 WD.?

I bought my wife a 08 Toyota Tacoma 2wd 5 speed manual transmission 4 cylinder back in February. Well in 7 months we have only put 3000 miles on this truck, the manual says, on initial break in go 5000 miles before service, I'm thinking to let all of the metal shavings in the Gear box to get broken in and to let everything get seated correctly. Well I have two free services that came with the truck from the dealership, since this oil in now 7 months old should I take it in for service? Or should I wait for the whole break in period 5000 miles?

The dealer probably used oil that is supposed to be changed every 3,000 miles or every 3 months which ever comes first. In your case I would go ahead and change your oil. You are 4 months over due. They do make oils that can last from 3,000 to 15,000 miles depending on the grade of oil....
