2008 Mazda 3, or 07 corolla?

I currently own an 07 corolla le, but I'm looking into getting an 08 mazda 3 (the i sporting), what are your oppinions?
 
When it comes to reliability, I would definately stick with the Corolla. Mazda is really sporty and cute, but Toyota Corollas are definately of better build and quality. I have an 1988 Toyota Corolla and still running strong and hope to purchase a new Corolla one day after I get rid of the VW.
