2008 Honda 600rr too big for first bike?

so i was planning on getting a ninja 600 as my first bike as i don't want a 250 because the guy at the store told me i would feel more comfortable on a bigger bike (i'm 6 foot 1 and weigh 190 lbs) i found a good deal on a used 2008 Honda 600rr and i was wondering if that would be too much as a first bike.. i'm planning on taking a couple different drivers classes b4 i get my license but i'd like any tips yall can throw at me.
also i am 20 and a very responsible driver (never been in an accident and never had a ticket) and don't drive fast i just like how the cbr looks

The guy in the store is a dork. Don't go back there. He's only interested in his commission, not your safety.

If you don't drive fast you don't need a 600RR. (And btw you RIDE a bike, you don't drive it.)
 
I used to ride one and was told it looks too small for me, but they aren't bad bikes. They are a little awkward because they are sports bikes and the riding position makes them difficult at low speeds. They are not good for long distances but great fun around town

On the subject of tickets, 38 years of riding and I finally got caught speeding. Can't complain, I've been getting away with it for a while
