my 2008 ford fusion will not let me put the key into the ignition. When i try it just keeps beeping and a red lock light on the dash blinks nonstop. I drove the car last night and it was fine. This morning i went to start it and it wont allow the key. The key locks and unlocks the doors fine. What do i do?

read the manual.
call a car service station for suggestions.
search the internet for suggestions.
call ford.

the only thing I can think of to try would be to disconnect the battery and then reconnect it.

good luck.

1 check battery...may be loose cable...step 2 did you use fob to unlock it it may be in anti theft mode...step 3 call dealer service dept...they answer Q for free...[and know more than Q&A]
4 i once sold a good car because it had a F,ed up anti theft system..

And everyone wonders why the american car companys are in trouble.
Have you called your local Ford dealership yet? that's the fist thing I would do.

If you are in the AA, RAC, Green Flag or some other recovery service, call them out and they will look at it hopefully for free. Or possibly a small charge if you dont have the right cover.
