2008 1098 substitution

Talked to my dealer in Phoenix, trying to get a better idea of delivery date. I was 2nd deposit he took, on December 28. He tells me that any 1098's ordered after November 30, 2006 will not be 2007 bikes, but will be 2008 models. Huh? does that sound like what anyone else has heard? That would put delivery of my bike off until at least June. That sucks!
 
Wouldn't be surprised by this. Have heard most if not all '07's have been long spoken for, and while you were only the second deposit at the dealer it appears Ducati NA is taking care of firm orders elsewhere first. In a way this is understandable from Bologna's p-o-v. I'd do the same. Hey, your wait time will probably be still less than mine! I'm first in line at my dealer, putting the $$$ down on a Tri-Colore last September. Have seen a couple 1098's come and go here I could have taken home, but remaining patient .
 
That sounds odd. Either your dealer screwed up and didn't place an order for 2007s early enough, or they have no pull with DNA. Dealers here placed orders with DNA for more 1098s than they were ultimately granted, and those orders were placed before all but maybe a very few deposits were in hand.

Or maybe they sold your 1098 out from under you and don't want to say as much? I'd definitely be investigating if you were 2nd in line and have had a deposit down since December.
 
your dealer is wrong. I placed my order in December, I was first to do so at my dealer, and I have my bike (s/n 001637)

Same here I place my order in december and my bike is coming next or following week (2007 model) Call my dealer today 02-28-2007!!!!
 
Just talked to my dealer today could have a red 1098S today (I was first on deposit ect). But told them I wanted the black S and will be first to have it, but won't be here till may-june.
 
I think your dealer is mistaken.
I placed my order/deposit at the UNVEILING. My bike has been pushed up from May to mid April or earlier, due to some large shipments lately.

He got 7 bikes in today - I stopped by - including 1 Tri Colore.

He still has a few 2007 bike spots left. Contact Southern California Ducati and speak with Mark McKinsey. www.SoCalTriumph.com

You'll get it no later than May.

The Tri Colore is much better looking in person than the pictures show, btw.
 
Yep, I think your dealer made an mistake too.

I put my deposit down at the end of Jan and I was 6th in line. I'm receiving mine next week...
 
I placed my 1098s order in november and receaved it at my house Feb 6th and my exhaust begining of March.........something definetly gone wrong with dealers timing with your order......goodluck
