I have a 2007 Suzuki XL7, I have had it for under a year. About two days ago it started having trouble starting. It would try and turn over but it would tke a long time to do so. It does start every time but some times it had taken up to an hour to get it going. After you drive it for a while it starts up right away every time unless you let it sit for an extended amount of time. I have had it looked at, the battery is good and fully charged, they cant find anything wrong with it!!!! I need help, anyone who knows anything about these cars please, do you have any clue???
My car has 67,000 miles on it and I checked the battery myself as well as took it to auto zone and to CarMax where my warenty is through... all times the battery was just fine... tonight the car would not even turn over at first and then after a bit of trying it started turning over but did not start....
Problem solved... I took it to a dealer and they found out that the fuse panel was bad...

I would say its a bad connection at the starter or the battery terminal.

Do you live in an extremely cold area? That could cause the battery to be weak until the internal temp is raised in it due to the cranking on the engine.

Both of these issues could be easily tested by just "jumping" the car. If it starts normal then its the battery. If it still cranks slow then its a connection issue most likely.

First and foremost though,,,,, why haven't you just taken it to the dealer? Its still under warranty.

Get a second opinion on the battery from a reputable independent shop ( not AutoZone or any other parts store ). If vehicle is under 36,000 miles get to your nearest Suzuki dealer for warranty.

I have not seen starting issues with the 07 and later XL7's that are not resolved with a battery or quality fuel.
