My Corolla has 152,000 miles, and my check engine light came on. Yesterday It was driven for about 30 seconds with the gas cap off, (and about 10 miles after that is when the light came on) but it has been driven over 100 miles since the light came on and the light has no went off. The car isn't acting funny, but it sounds a little strange, and it did stutter earlier. Keep in mind that it is a 4 cylinder with a lot of miles so it is going to sound weird and stutter a little. I think I a just being paranoid. Does anyone have any idea what else it could be? I did check the oil so that is fine. I think if it was the gas cap, it would be off by now.
