2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Hood latch sensor remote start not working?

My DIC says remote start disabled, ive confirmed i have a aftermarket hood latch which does not have the sensor that tells my car my hood is shut (i can see some wires hanging near my hood latch which is the wires for my sensor but no place to connect them since my hood latch is non original. I cannot use the factory remote start system until my hood sensor is connected properly...i would have to pay 100 dollars for a new hood latch and my installer said that might not even be the problem...anyone have better ideas, like a cheap quick fix? thanks
