I bought a used 06 Pontiac G6 back in April with an automatic transmission. Within the last month, it has started to jerk pretty hard when it shifts into 1st gear. It also jerks a bit when shifting it from park to drive. Within the last week, the check engine light has come on. I thought it may be the transmission, but they said there was nothing wrong with it. The weird thing is that sometimes it will jerk when it shifts, other times it will be fine. Any ideas from anyone?
Ok, let me clarify some things. First, it was checked out by the dealer. At the time, the check engine light was not on, thus no diagnostic was done. I just had one done today at Auto Zone. It said it could be 1 of 4 possibilities;
Loose cam or crank sensor
Excessive timing chain free play
Blocked oil passage in the camshaft actuator
Incorrect oil quality or viscosity
I was just hoping someone else had the same problem and knew what it was for sure
