i own a 2006 honda civic si. i put amsoil dominator 5w20 oil in for my last oil change, but im considering switching that out due to it may or may not harm my engine if i put it under stress. the recommended oil to use is 5w30. i have heard that 5w20 oil will give better gas mileage and more hp, which is so far true because the butt dyno says that theres a little more power. anyway, what should i do, should i switch out to 5w30 to be safe or would i be alright with the 5w20. keep in mind my redline is 8400 rpms and i do track the car every once in a while. please know a thing or two about cars before posting an answer, i would like some facts not opinions.
