2006 dodge grand caravan sxt stalling?

we just got a used 2006 dodge grand caravan sxt today and we noticed something weird. When i use the factory issued key that has the remote built in, it runs fine. when i use a copied key that the dealer also gave us, (one thats pure metal without a remote on it) , i start the van, and it stalls after a few seconds. has anyone else had this problem and even if you didn't what could be causing this. i'm guessing that its a security thing because the car works fine with the original key but it stalls with the copy. i cant really say for sure tho.
 
Yes, many people have had the same problem. You can only use the copied key to open the van, it's of no other use. get another one programed either at the dealer or a lock shop for about $70.
 
if it was the key it shouldn't start and run at all on it,take it back to the dealer you bought it from and have them check and make sure the key was programmed for it,if its a chipped key it could be off,the ones that are chipped have to be right or else they will cause problems,you pretty well narrowed it down when you tried both keys and one works good and the other one doesn't,good luck.
