2006 chrysler pacifica limited navigation not working?

I just recently bought a used 2006 chrysler pacifica. I had the vin checked and it did come equipped with navigation however I do not have a navigation disc. My question is currently where the naviagtion would be displayed within the spedometer it is not lighting up or displaying anything should that display something regardless of the nav dvd being in the player? I do not want to purch a nav dvd and find out that something else is broken which could possibly cost more. any ideas or suggestions would be helpful thanks
