2005 Yamaha R6 or 2003 Honda CBR600RR ???

I'm looking to get a 600cc supersport bike. I've got it narrowed down to a 2005 R6 with higher mileage (about 28k) for $5000 or a 2003 CBR600RR with lower mileage (about 14k) for $5400. Both are private sellers and those are their asking price. The R6 actually looks cleaner than the 600RR with the lower miles. I've heard only praise about both bikes, and I'm having trouble deciding which bike to get. Any help, comments, ideas, etc are appreciated!
 
Depends...Has either bike been dropped, raced, rained on, how well has it been taken care of, does the owner have maint. records for the bikes? These are the best tips to follow. Although many can just lie and say it has never been dropped or raced, or even stunted...But you have some that are honest and legit. Take a buddy or tech or mechanic with you to look at the bikes, or someone who knows exactly what to look for...It would be the best thing to do. If the bike has been raced, dropped, or stunted, stay away from it. If it has been rained on, chances are the wiring will end up going sour on it in the near future, and possibly the electrical system and electronics itself. I would say neither though. They are asking blue book on them, for the most part. See if you can talk them down. THey are probably trying to take advantage of the fact everyone is freaking about gas prices and wants to get a bike. I would say though, whatever feels more comfortable to you though.
 
when people say Im looking at a 600 this or a 600 that & cant decide...................

I think straight away " this person is not into bikes or they would know"

so my advice is... 600 sports bike is not a learner motorcycle.........

if you really want a "bigger" bike... look at the SV 650 Suzuki

or something similar.. if you want a 4 cylinder look at a 250cc bike

or look at some of the questions that have been asked before in resolved question section.....

lots of people with the knoledge on this site...but its only good advice if you take it....

If you have been racing dirt bikes for 5 years & know what your doing.. then Id go for the 2005 R6.. but thats only my preference for Yamahas...
 
i'm big on maintainence so i would see if either has maintainence records and which would was maintained better. both are nice so i'd say it should come down to that.
