I have a beautiful 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE, 74,000 miles on it, just came back from a road trip to Spain. Three days later while driving..it just went kaput. The AA guy came out, tried to jump it, nothing. THought it was the alternator. Towed it to a new shop and the mechanic there thinks it may be the timing belt and engine failure. Is that normal for the mileage and is the Toyota Sienna known for that happening? What would the cost involved be to replace the engine if it is that bad and would it be worth it? Would it be more efficient to send it to a local Toyota dealership here in the UK even though they don't have this model in this country? Would their mechanics be better off looking at it? THanks for any and all considerations.
