2005 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD - questions about buying this SUV?

Hi, I am a single person considering buying an SUV (not for any particular reason other than I want to drive an SUV). There is a really nice 2005 Toyota 4Runner (61,000 miles) for sale by owner. They are asking $17,000 for it, and say that KelleyBlueBook prices it at $18,000, so I "would be getting a deal." I checked kbb and they are right, but when I checked Edmunds.com, they price it at $15,636. Which is accurate? How can I know?

I really only want to spend $13-14,000... what's a fair price to say is my "bottom line" if I decide to pursue buying it?

Also, I have been looking for an SUV and so far am impressed with this one, but am wondering if buying this big SUV (it's bigger than others that I've been looking at) would be imprudent, seeing as how I just want to drive an SUV - not tow anything, nor drive a family in it.

Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks!
