Im looking into the Vortex muffler from cherry bomb, but im curious as too how they sound and perform. ive heard that they cause some low end loss. im just going to chop my stock stuff off at the muffler and put on a single 3" in and dual 3" out that ill be side exiting. i really don't want the annoying popping and cracking on decel either. Does anyone have some information on these things? im running a 5.3 V8 with stock everything btw.
not looking to spend big bux. my truck has a piston slap problem, and while its not hurting anything...its VERY annoying idling in the drive-thru or bank and i just want to cover it up. i dont see the need for a cat-back at this point.

cherry bomb brand mufflers are cheap, they will give it a deep sound...

In my honest opinion, i would go with a flowmaster, or magnaflow complete cat back unit. they will give you a better throatier beefier sound, but not too lound... the only problem is the cost, and no matter what you do with your mufflers, you will not notice a seat of the pants difference power wise... Unless you ad headers, modify the exh ports on the heads and remove the cat(the most restrictive thing on the truck is the cylinder head and catalytic converter.....)
