2005 Mercury Mountaineer Premier AWD V6?

Hey all, so there is a really good deal on an 05 mountaineer premier awd v6. The car is loaded, power sunroof, heated leather seats, 3rd row seating, folding 2nd and 3rd rows, cd changer, all of that. The only concern I have is that I've heard the V6 model gets low gas mileage because the v6 has to work harder to move the big vehicle, and that concerns me, because if/when gas goes back up i'll be spending a lot of money on gas. Currently I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe (V8), it's a great vehicle, but this deal on the mountaineer is great, but i just need to know if its worth it due to the smaller engine. Thanks all.
 
I have never heard of a car getting worse mileage from a equivelent car with different eingines and the smaller engine having worse MPG. NEVER. Go Mustang v6 vs GT. Nope
Fusion I4 vs V6, nope, F150 inline 6 vs small or large v8, NOPE. If you can I will be extremely surprised. Your information is incorrect, to prove it go to www.fueleconomy.gov and see for yourself. The mariner is rated at 16 city and 21 hwy, that you want.
there is not a v8 version, but there is a I4 version and it gets 1 better than the v6. the tahoe you drive now is rated at 11 city and 15 hwy. Big difference huh.
If you want a good suv and MPG then you should look at a Ford Escape.
