2005 mazda 6 alternator removal?

It is a 4 cylinder automatic 2005 mazda 6
I can't seem to remove the alternator from the car. I have taken off all of the wiring and heat shield, but there seems to be no realistic way to get the alternator out of the car. Not enough room to pull it out from the bottom. AC lines stopping it from the top. Is there something I'm missing? Its unbolted and not attached to the belt any longer.
 
Now it's time to look in Chiltons and find out what twisty puzzle pattern is necessary to get around things. It would be terrible to have to undo the AC lines. Recharging would be necessary- expensive and time consuming.
