I have not looked at the car yet but the owner is saying it needs the catalytic converter replaced. The converter is a dealer only part and they quoted the owner $2000 to replace it!!! That being told to me I now wonder why they are asking so much to do that job! I have replaced many converters on cars and I know a hybrid uses a gas engine and an electric motor so the gas engine can't be any different than a conventional vehicle. So to me, replacing the converter should be just like any other vehicle. right? If anyone out there that has experience working on hybrid vehicles would please advise me on this I would be very great full! Thanks!
Please only answer if you actually have experience working on hybrids. I need a solid answer. No opinions please unless you tell me it's just your opinion and not a fact. And by experience I mean someone who has worked on several hybrids. Not trying to be a jerk I just don't want to sort through a bunch of answers (if I get any) trying to figure out which is valid. THANKS.
