2005 Honda 250ex shift lever broken?

The shifter lever, on a 2005 Honda 250ex "What you shift with," is coming out of the motor, and i was wondering, if there was a screw that holds that to the transmission or a snap ring type thing, where i can tap on it a little bit, and snap it back on there.

So basic question, is it a screw or a snap ring that holds it to the transmission?
