2005 Ford Focus ZX4 SE Reverse Gear?

It's a manual transmission. It goes into all gears fine, but it seems kinda hard to find where the reverse is. when i do finally get it into reverse it goes good, and when its in the other gears it goes VERY fast. <compared to my old ford ranger> Any ideas on how to make it go into reverse easier?
Don, I do take it easy and such, it just seems much harder to find where the reverse is located, its not exactly under 5th, its like in the middle of 4th and 5th.. maybe its just because I transfered over from a ranger truck..
Also, the cd player doesn't like to take my cd's in. It won't accept my cd's any ideas
 
Just take it easy on the old girl. Make sure that it has enough of the right oil in the transmission. Make sure the clutch is in proper adjustment and the shift linkage isn't bent or missing any bushings. Don't try to shift to reverse until the car is standing still.
