2005 ford Focus wipers staying on dealers tell me gem module to be replaced...

Firstly that question is really hard to read.

500 does seem a lot. is it still covered under warranty?
 
Could this be part of the soldering problem come to light, because of a ban on lead in solder? Plague Ford for an answer. One garage unnamed has suggested a quick fix of WD40 as a possible cure onto dash board components. I do not know enough to say this is wise/safe/useful. So cannot recommend this action. I just mention what has been on the TV.
