2005 ford focus making clicking noise.?

Changed oil and oil filter accidentally spilled oil on some car part don't know what it is but now car making a clicking sound. Am not sure if the spilled oil has anything to do with the clicking. Car clicks when in park and drive. The clicking gets louder when the ac is turned on but when i turn the ac off i can still hear it. Its sounds like click click pause click click pause. What can it be?
 
Could be anything. Worst case it's a lifter or broken valve. Go into Autozone, have them run a scan and they should be able to determine any problems.
 
Go to one of the big chain auto parts houses and point out the thing you spilled oil on and ask them the same question.
They can't check codes on your car unless the check engine light is on.
