Car was running weird, and check engine light came on. I went to my local auto parts store and had a diagnostic check done...the codes said that my 6th cylinder is misfiring. Before the check engine light came on and this happened the car started making a whining type sound...but is only audible when the car is in gear, and at certain points (higher rpms) such as after a downshift or just under a load in general (anything more then normal slow city driving) . The misfire is consistant and the car idles rougher then usual and just runs like crap. The whining sound is still there and I am afraid to drive the car. The cylinder did not seem to start misfiring until a little while after the whine started. Thanks alot for any help. Im totally stumped.
