2005 Dodge Neon SXT- Very High RPM's?

Just last weekend I bought a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT and did a ton of research on it, before I bought it. I did read that due to the slightly low horsepower engine that it spins high RPM's before it shifts, but while driving it in the last week I've had moments when it would be spinning 5,000 RPM's before it shifted, and this is only in 2nd gear, shifting up to 3rd.

My question to you is: Is this norma for this carl? Or could there be something wrong with my transmission?

it all depends on how you press gas pedal, if you press down to the bottom of course but if you press easy and feel push in your car then transmision. may be transmiss. oil needs to be change
