2005 Dodge caravan trouble engine light, how do you turn it off once tou fix...

...the problem? we bought the part that was bad and installed it the problem is fixed but the light is still on. How to turn it off?
 
usually if the problem is fixed the light should go out but if you want to clear the code that caused the light to come on then you have to reset your van's computer. do this by removing the negative battery cable from the battery for about 1 minute then touch it to the positive battery terminal and then rehook up the negative battery cable to its terminal. if the light comes back on when your driving, then your problem is not fixed and something else is wrong. OR You can have an autoshop or autoparts store use a scan tool to clear the code/turn off the light
 
The light will not turn off b/c there is something else wrong! That light is on for a reason! Please check your van again or not you will be on the side of the road!
