Hi, I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan SE 3.3L V6 with 41,000km. 2 days ago, I drove my vehicle to the dealership for a warranty service, replacing a PCM module to resolve an engine ping which it did. For the very first time, yesterday, my engine started knocking very loudly out of the blue during the acceleration from dead stop. After I heard the knocking, I stopped from 20 km/h and the knocking stopped. I tried to duplicate the knocking by doing the same thing, and on top of that, I drove for a good 2 hours on local and on the highway with both normal and max accelerations but the knocking did not return. I know the Caravan is equipped with a knocking sensor so my question is, do you think the PCM corrected the problem by retard the timing and it's something I shouldn't worry about anymore, or should I bring my vehicle to the dealership for service? I thank you in advance for your help!
