STOP!!

You can hurt the engine if you keep trying to start it.

Has the car sat for a while? When did you last drive it before the problem started?

There could be many issues....

What sound did it make when you tried to start it, was it the engine or the starter?

If it was they key and the microchip, it would start normal and then turn off after about 2 seconds. You would have almost enough time to put the car in D (drive), but it would shut off before you could move. I don't remember, but there may also be a light on the dash to indicate if it's the key. I don't think this is a key issue...

It could be the: solenoid, starter, ignition system, spark plugs... ETC.

It's really hard to diagnose without seeing or hearing it.

My BEST advice is to call and have the car towed to a Jeep service center at a dealership (best knowledge, but high price) or a good mechanic in your area.

You don't want to hurt the engine.

Let me know how it goes!
