2004 Pontiac Grand Prix Starting?

i have a Pontiac Grand Prix GT and ever since i owned this car it have given me trouble starting. when i turn the key it cranks and will run but right away it will die and it will do this constly the only way to get it to not do this is to step on the gas when you are starting the car and then at that it will sometime not even help it but other than that it runs fine it had 52,000 miles on when i have bought it and now it has 103,000 miles on it now had i have been butting up with this starting problem every since thanks
 
Mine does the same thing but only sometimes.It has 86.000 on it.I know that my check engine light comes on at times but the code it displays is for a thermostat and nothing is wrong with that.Anything can cause it and since mine does not do it very often I just run injector cleaner through the tank about once a month.It still gets about 28 to 32 MPG so I do not suspect it is a fuel problem.
Start by making sure your filters(air,fuel) are ok.
