I believe that the motor for the power window on the rear passenger door of my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee has died (or is dying) because the window no longer goes up and only goes down EXTREMELY slowly. Now, I know that if I take it to a mechanic, they'll probably charge me $70+ per hour plus the cost of any materials necessary. I'm trying to figure out if I'd come off cheaper doing it myself. How do I fix this problem myself? Please provide details (i.e. how do take my door apart, what tools are necessary, etc.) Explain it to me as you would a child. Thanks!

I doubt you will find any reputable shop that works for 70.00 / hour, you cant be profitable charging such a low hourly rate, we charge 100 / hour. Remove the door panel, screwdrivers maybe a few torx sockets, remove all electric connectors, put panel aside, remove hardware on window motor, get new motor, and reverse procedure to install.
