I want to replace the radiator fan relay on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so I remove the headlight and no previous hole for access. I cut the hole....and no relay. So I figure I have missed it somehow and just remove the whole bumper, head light housing, etc. I see that there isn't one there. I have already bought the replacement relay and find that there are three holes (2 for screws and 1 for the guide to fit in) that match perfectly to my replacement relay.
So, I'm thinking: 1) It doesn't have one. 2) Mine is special and is in a different spot. or 3) Someone had to replace it already and decided it needed to be relocated for easy access.
I'm going with # 3, but the problem is....where is it? So does anyone know where the wires originate so that I can track it to its new location?

Here's the link verifying the supposed location of the relay. It's a really odd place I know.

The cooling fan relay should be located in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. I've never heard of a newer model car with a relay behind the headlamp.
