I heard something about the '04 having valve issues but I have not personally met anyone that has had an issue and I know several folks riding that year model. I have an '05 that I raced for two seasons and now use as a practice bike and it has been rock solid. I would just suggest having the valve clearance checked. Also they do use a little oil so check that before every ride. I love the CRF250R.
