I may be getting my dads 2004 dodge ram 3500 diesel it has about 160k miles on it right now. If I was to get it I want to upgrade some of it such as exhaust, programmer, intake and I assume it will need a new tranny soon. But my question is do you think it would be worth putting money into this truck how much longer do you think it could last?
Thanks,
Sean

I work at a Chrysler dealership and although that pickup is gold, i would be careful in investing that kind of money in it. Of course, since its a 2004, the warranty has expired so there is no reason not to put a programmer and maybe a Borla exhaust or something. just be careful on investing alot of money into a car with over 100k miles. although it is a cummins, and those engines simply cannot be topped, the ? is to yourself, is all of this money that your putting into it worth it to you. because you are not going to get the trade-in value of whatever money you put into it. so whatever u do wind up investing it will simply be for your pleasure and not to make the truck worth more to someone else, but to you.
