OK so Im trying to remove the interior door handles on my neon since they were painted by the previous owner. We got as far as taking the door panel off and releasing the plastic clips from the hooks but how the heck can I get the actual handle off of the panel. eHow gave me some information on how to do it saying "slide out and away" from the panel but I don't quite understand this as it doesnt seem to "slide" out and away.
If anyone has done this on a 2000 and up neon, sx 2.0 or srt 4 could you give me any tips??

Since the door handle was painted professionally with automotive paint and the surface was scratched up before hand, I dont really want to remove the paint... a "smart human being" would simply replace the door handle itself than living with scratched up interior pieces lol
Thanks for the help ^_^ after looking at the back of my panel I have realized the sx 2.0 panel I was looking at first (trying to remove the handle for my car) the handle mount is riveted onto the back of door panel and luckily on MY car, they cut the top of the rivets off and replaced them with cutoff screws
SO I will just have to cut the rivets off on the donor car lol now I have door panel pieces all over my living room lol
