I own a 2004 Crestliner Fish Hawk 1750 and the fuel gauge stopped working. I checked the fuses and they are all fine. I know it is getting power for when I turn the ignition on the needle jumps a little. The needle is not stuck as I took the bezel off to be sure. I propped it with a 9V battery and the gauge responded. Any ideas that will save me from having a marine tech look at it? The fuel sensor on the tank is in a terrible place to get to and would require a lot of work.
I have not eliminated the gauge as I don't know how to properly test it. I only wanted to determine if it moved or if it was physically stuck which it was not. Is their a diagnostic proceedure for this?
