First off, all recommended maintenance and oil changes are up-to-date.
But every now and then, when ever I come to a complete stop, my oil light and check oil indicator comes on. Once I accelerate again, it goes off and comes back on when I stop again. The truck has oil in it, as I always still check it to make sure. If I am stopped and it happens, if I put the truck in neutral and accelerate, it will go off and come back on once idle again.

This does not happen everyday...sometimes days or even a week might pass by before it happens again. I just went to Firestone to see if it was something obvious, and they said they would not go further than checking the oil level and recommended an engine shop.

Has anyone experienced this or have a hunch on what it might be, oil pump or something?

On extreme hard stop that is only normal. But if you are just talking about quick stop (without burning the tires), that sounds like you have low oil pressure (oil pump weak and going quickly).

Get that fixed (possibly replace the oil pump) now before it does MORE damage. Low oil pressure is the major reason for engine wear / break down.

Good Luck...
