2003 suzuki rm85 running problems?

ok my brother has a 2003 rm85 that is giving him some problems. ok the bike will start and idle when the choke is up but as soon as you put the choke down it stops and when the choke is on, the bike bogs until you are at near full rev and won't drive with the choke off. i cleaned the filter which is a twin air filter and the carb, the gas is mixed with a little too much oil in gas, the top end has been redone with a piston/gaskets and rings and now the perforated tube in the silencer fell out but it was running the same before it did. oh and it goes through spark plugs really fast. i'm guessing its either the carb adjustments or the jetting but i'm not sure so help would be highly appreciated.
 
I'd be willing to bet that you have an intake leak...
Yeah, it should be re-jetted to match the engine modifications but it should still run with the choke off.
Spray some WD-40 around the intake seals and see if the rpms change. if they do there is an intake leak.
 
i think i would change the carb and for prob 10 15 bucks put a jet kit in it which will give you some more power
