i have a 2003 pontiac Grand Am. it is a V4 and a 5 speed automatic.
I have recently replaced the battery, put in new oil, and now on my dash, the battery light and oil light are on when the car is off. I tried to reset it through the fuse box but no luck. Anybody know how to help? Anybody know what the problem is?
ok you are an idiot. its a 2.2 engine. it has only 4 cylinders
It is a 2.2 Engine. I have been a mechanic for 44 years. please dont act like an idiot when answering this question or you will be reported

first thing is your engine isnt a "v4". perhaps you meant inline 4.

thats a perfectly normal thing. your battery and oil light should both be on when the key is turned to on, but the car is not started. i've had my 01 grand am for about 5 years now, and its done that the whole time. as long as neither light is on while the car is, your in good shape.

good luck

"it is a V4 and a 5 speed automatic."

I think you are mistaken. Perhaps you should let a professional look at it before you do any more damage.
