2003 mazda protege lights?

Hey! I am having a lot of trouble with my headlights! I got the car with the stock ugly yellowy headlights and so I replaced the H4 12v 60/50 watt bulbs with 8000k 100/90 watt xenon bulbs and were working great. I got an HID kit (H4) with ballasts and everything. I plugged the HIDs in and my fuses popped. I tried it over and over. I took the HIDs out cause they wont even turn on... I have a brand new battery and I amped up the fuses for the headlights from 15amp to 20amp hoping that would do something. Nope. So i put my 8000k xenon bulbs back in cause the HIDs are too confusing. There is nothing wrong with the HIDs cause they were used on my sister's tribute and worked fine (H4). So I put the 8000k in and tried my brights and the right (from inside the car) just shuts off but the right one works. Could I have fried the wiring? If so, is there an inexpensive way to fix this. I heard relays for the HIDs might work, but haven't gotten anything solid. I took the 8000k out and put the stocks in to be safe but I really want the HIDs. Please help!
