2003 jeep cherokee transmission slipping?

i have a 2003 jeep grand cherokee 98,000miles. i just had new tires put on the jeep today ,and now my transmission is slipping . is there anything to this ? if not the tires what could it be ? it slips when i take off and can not manually shift . top speed is 40mph . please help
