My car is now sitting at 98,000 miles and about 15,000 miles ago, I noticed that every time I step on my brake, my car would shake, especially the steering wheel. The slower I go, the less it shakes and the faster I go, the more it shakes. Again, the shaking only happens when I'm stepping on my brake. Oh by the way, it gets worse when driving downhill. The whole darn thing shakes like something is about to fall off. I had the brakes check by my mechanic and was told the brakes were fine. Just to be on the safe side, I had the brakes changed and the same problem occurred. He also checked the rotors and didn't see anything out of the ordinary as well. What can be wrong? What is causing this awful shaking?
