...Engine compartment)? I have a 2003 Honda Odyssey with roughly 90,000 miles on it. Last week (around tuesday/wednesday) I took it to a Sears Automotive place, had new tires put on, had my tired aligned, got an oil change, and had general maintenance done. On Friday I drove the vehicle up to Chicago (roughly 600 miles) with no problems. The car was loaded with boxes and some light furniture (I was moving) and the only thing off was when I accelerated sometimes it made a straining noise. Probably due to weight, but I've moved heavier things in the vehicle with less trouble.
Just now I took the car for a quick drive around the corner to the bank and I noticed that it was vibrating badly. Enough and consistantly that it felt like an engine knock. There was also a very bad burning smell coming through into the car when it was standing still. Hard to describe, but if I had to place it I'd say it was most similar to burning rubber, but not really.
My Malfunction Indicator Lamp came on during the drive to the bank, and on the way back my TCS light also came on. It was MAYBE a mile and a half both ways.
What's wrong with my car?
To Michael: Not the oil lamp, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp.
To Frankie: I can't really take it back to sears, I moved. The sears I had the work done at is 600 miles away.
To Squeaky: There's oil and trans fluid I checked. They're both at acceptable levels.
If Sears did something to cause this, it would have happened a lot sooner. I've driven well over 600 miles since I had it done.
Maintenance included:
-Tire Change
-Tire Alignment
-Oil Change
-Tune Up
--Spark Plugs replaced
--Wires checked and replaced if needed
--Trans fluid checked and replaced if needed
