I had my fuel pump replaced on my 2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE1 soon to be a year ago and since I have had this problem. It's happened about 3 times but worries me because I don't know what's causing it. I've had the alternator, starter, and battery tested and they are all good. The security light comes on first, then the check engine light comes on, then the engine light comes on and then the engine kills. I put the car in park, turn the car off, then restart it and it's fine. I don't want to pay the dealership $100+ just to diagnose the problem because it could not be fuel pump, which has a lifetime warranty. Could it possibly be my battery cables aren't tight enough from when I changed my battery a year ago? Please help!
