I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge 3.0 V6 5-speed. Today I filled it up with gas and topped it off pretty good. Well after topping it off I started it up and noticed it was idling kind of rough. I'm pretty sure its not the gas station I have gotten gas there many times before. But anyways it idled rough and then when I pulled out onto the highway and started to accelerated it acted like it was missing, losing power than suddenly gaining. I figured it was most likely due to topping it off. So I drove it about 30 miles and shifted at 4,000RPM's instead of my normal 3,000 to burn extra gas. Well after that drive the truck now runs fine. But my check engine light is on and wont go off even though the truck is running ok.
