2003 Ford Focus Won't Start?

So I have a 2003 Ford Focus Zx3. 2.0, 4 cylinder, 5 spd, fairly basic model. 90,400 miles.

The other night it randomly wouldn't start. Like I parked it, and then went to drive it a few hours later and it wouldn't start. It doesn't turn over, doesn't click or make any noises, it just kinda turns the car on and that's it.

All the electrical equipment works fine; lights, radio, etc. Additionally I've tried to jump-start it with no success so I'm ruling out a battery problem. The only way I can get it to start is by push starting it (which suuuuuucks).

I'm not the most auto mechanic savvy but I'm not completely ignorant either. I began thinking it may be the starter, so I took it into a mechanic and they said they were pretty sure my starter was fine, but that my system goes from my ignition, through an alarm/security system (?? not 100% sure about this), and then to my starter and there was something going wrong between there.

Any thoughts? I don't know if it's a blown fuse, something wrong with my starter, perhaps a short somewhere? Just kinda looking for ideas here...
